Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and passionate Art Teacher to join our international department. The successful candidate will teach Art to senior high school students, with additional responsibilities for English instruction. This dual-subject role offers the opportunity to inspire students in both artistic expression and language development while preparing them for AP/A-Level examinations.

Key Responsibilities

Art Instruction:

• Teach AP Studio Art and/or A-Level Art & Design to senior students

• Develop students' technical skills, creativity, and artistic expression

• Guide students in building portfolios for university applications

• Prepare students for AP/A-Level Art examinations

• Organize art exhibitions, showcases, and school art events

• Manage art studio resources and maintain safety standards

• Integrate art history, theory, and contemporary practices into curriculum

English Teaching:

• Teach English language skills to senior high school students

• Support students in developing academic English proficiency

• Prepare students for English requirements in international examinations

• Integrate language learning with artistic contexts when appropriate

Curriculum Development:

• Design engaging lesson plans aligned with AP/A-Level standards

• Develop assessment tools and provide constructive feedback

• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs

• Incorporate technology and digital art tools into teaching

Student Support:

• Mentor students in portfolio development and university applications

• Encourage participation in art competitions and exhibitions

• Provide guidance on art career pathways

• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment

Professional Collaboration:

• Participate in departmental meetings and school events

• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects

• Engage in professional development opportunities

• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or related field

• Valid teaching certification/license preferred

• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in international schools

• Experience with AP Studio Art and/or A-Level Art & Design curriculum

• Strong portfolio of personal artistic work

• Proficiency in various art media and techniques

• Excellent English communication skills (native or near-native)

• Passion for art education and student development

• Strong organizational and classroom management skills

Preferred:

• Master's degree in Fine Arts or Art Education

• Experience teaching English as a second language

• Familiarity with digital art tools and software

• Experience with portfolio preparation for art schools

• Knowledge of Chinese culture and educational context
