ESL/Art Teacher

Location: Wuhan, Hubei, China

1. Salary & Benefits Package Compensation:

Monthly Salary: up to 27,000 RMB (Net / After-tax). Note: This amount excludes additional allowances or bonuses.

Housing Allowance: A housing allowance is provided (Referencing the salary addendum structure: typically 2,000 RMB/month).

Overtime Pay: Classes exceeding the weekly maximum are paid at 150 RMB per class.

Weekend demonstration classes are paid at 150 RMB per class.

Extra work for demonstration classes during weekdays is paid at 100 RMB per class.

Relocation Flight: Up to 5,000 RMB for international relocation (Economy Class) upon arrival and submission of receipts.

Annual Flight: Up to 5,000 RMB for round-trip flights to your home country during winter or summer holidays (after completing two full semesters).

Insurance: Domestic medical insurance and accidental injury insurance provided.

Visa Support: The school covers costs and handles the application for the Working Visa and Residence Permit.

Paid Leave: Standard school holidays (Winter/Summer breaks) as per the school calendar. Christmas:

Paid holiday on December 25th and 26th. Personal/Sick Leave: 2 paid personal days and 2 paid sick days per academic year.

Job Responsibilities

The EAL Teacher is expected to fulfill the following duties: Teaching: Deliver high-quality English lessons to students as assigned.

Class Coverage: Cover classes for sick colleagues when required (paid extra if weekly hours are exceeded).

Event Participation: Attend special school activities, including evenings or weekends (e.g., Christmas, Halloween, International Children’s Day, competitions).

Note: Special activities will not exceed 15 hours outside normal working hours per year.

Professional Development: Attend formal professional development (PD) activities on weekends (maximum 2 weekend days per year).

Demonstration Classes: Conduct demonstration classes for prospective parents and students (capped at 15 total per year, with no more than 10 on weekends).

Compliance: Strictly adhere to the school’s teaching curriculum, safety regulations, and Chinese laws regarding foreign experts.

Preparation: Utilize non-teaching hours for lesson planning, grading, meetings, and training.

Working Hours & Class Schedule Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:20 PM.

Total Hours: 40 working hours per week (average 8 hours/day, excluding lunch break).

Lunch Break: From the end of the last morning class until 1:30 PM.

Teaching Load: Maximum of 22 classes (or club activities) per week.

Daily Load: Normally not exceeding 5 classes per day.

Class Duration: Classes generally last between 35 to 50 minutes (typically scheduled for 40 minutes).

Calculations: 20 min class = 0.5 teaching hour 40-50 min class = 1.0 teaching hour 90 min class = 2.0 teaching hours
