We are seeking a caring and experienced Primary English Teacher to join our elementary division. The successful candidate will create an engaging, supportive learning environment, deliver high-quality English instruction, and support the holistic development of primary students.
Classroom Teaching:
Teach English to primary students (specific grade level to be assigned)
Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with curriculum standards
Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
Use age-appropriate teaching methods and materials
Integrate phonics, vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension
Incorporate games, songs, stories, and interactive activities
Create a language-rich classroom environment
English Language Development:
Support English language learners (ELL/ESL students)
Use scaffolding strategies to support diverse learners
Develop students' confidence in using English
Provide explicit instruction in language skills
Integrate English across subject areas
Monitor and support language acquisition progress
Student Welfare & Pastoral Care:
Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom community
Support students' social and emotional development
Implement effective classroom management strategies
Build strong, respectful relationships with students
Address individual student needs and learning differences
Promote positive behavior and character development
Assessment & Reporting:
Design and implement formative and summative assessments
Monitor and track student progress and achievement
Provide timely, constructive feedback to students
Maintain accurate records of student performance
Prepare reports and communicate with parents
Use data to inform instruction and intervention
Curriculum Planning:
Develop comprehensive unit and lesson plans
Align instruction with curriculum standards and learning objectives
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Integrate cross-curricular connections
Create engaging learning experiences and activities
Adapt curriculum based on student needs and interests
Parent Communication:
Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians
Conduct parent-teacher conferences
Provide updates on student progress and achievements
Address parent concerns and questions promptly
Build positive partnerships with families
Involve parents in classroom activities
Professional Collaboration:
Participate in grade-level team meetings and planning
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum and instruction
Work with learning support staff for students with additional needs
Participate in school events, assemblies, and activities
Engage in professional development and training
Contribute to school improvement initiatives
Essential:
Bachelor's degree in Education, English, TESOL, or related field
Valid teaching certification/license from home country
TEFL/TESOL certificate (120 hours minimum)
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in primary/elementary schools
Experience teaching English to young learners
Experience with English language learners (ELL/ESL)
Excellent English communication skills (native or near-native)
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Commitment to student-centered learning and holistic development
Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with children
Preferred:
Experience in international schools or bilingual settings
Familiarity with international primary curricula
Proficiency in educational technology (Google Classroom, Seesaw, etc.)
Experience with phonics programmes (Jolly Phonics, etc.)
Knowledge of child development and learning theories
Basic Mandarin Chinese skills (helpful but not required)
Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive practices
