Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Mathematics to lead our Mathematics Department. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership, teach A-Level Mathematics, and drive curriculum development while mentoring teaching staff to deliver outstanding educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management:

• Lead and manage the Mathematics Department, providing direction and support to teaching staff

• Develop and implement departmental strategies, policies, and improvement plans

• Conduct lesson observations, provide constructive feedback, and support teacher professional development

• Oversee curriculum planning, resource allocation, and assessment strategies

• Collaborate with senior leadership on school-wide initiatives

Teaching & Learning:

• Teach A-Level Mathematics to senior high school students

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction that meets diverse learning needs

• Prepare students for Cambridge A-Level examinations with outstanding results

• Utilize innovative teaching methods and educational technology

• Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback

Curriculum Development:

• Ensure curriculum alignment with Cambridge International standards

• Develop scheme of work, lesson plans, and assessment materials

• Implement best practices in mathematics education

• Promote cross-curricular connections and real-world applications

Professional Collaboration:

• Work closely with other department heads and school leadership

• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events

• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress

• Contribute to the school's continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

• Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field

• Valid teaching certification/license from home country

• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role

• Proven experience teaching Cambridge A-Level Mathematics

• Strong knowledge of A-Level curriculum and assessment

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills

• Native or near-native English proficiency

• Commitment to international education and student-centered learning

Preferred:

• Experience in international schools in Asia/China

• Master's degree or higher

• Familiarity with Chinese culture and educational context

• Experience with curriculum development and teacher training

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: 28,000 - 35,000 RMB/month (before tax), commensurate with qualifications and experience
