Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Physical Education Teacher to join our sports and wellbeing department. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality A-Level Physical Education instruction, coach sports teams, and promote healthy lifestyles and physical fitness among senior students.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning:

  • Teach A-Level Physical Education to senior students

  • Deliver engaging lessons covering anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, psychology, and socio-cultural studies

  • Prepare students for Cambridge International A-Level PE examinations

  • Integrate theory with practical application

  • Use innovative teaching methods and educational technology

  • Provide timely, constructive feedback on assessments

Practical Skills Development:

  • Teach and assess practical performance in various sports

  • Coach students in skill development and tactical understanding

  • Organize and supervise practical sessions and assessments

  • Evaluate students' performance in different sporting activities

  • Support students in developing coaching and leadership skills

Sports Coaching & Extracurricular:

  • Coach school sports teams (specific sports based on expertise)

  • Organize inter-school competitions and sporting events

  • Lead sports clubs and extracurricular activities

  • Promote participation in sports at all levels

  • Organize sports days, tournaments, and fitness challenges

  • Supervise outdoor education and adventure activities

Assessment & Examination Preparation:

  • Design formative and summative assessments aligned with Cambridge standards

  • Prepare students for A-Level written examinations and practical assessments

  • Mark coursework and provide detailed feedback

  • Monitor and track student progress

  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement

  • Support students with examination techniques

Health & Wellbeing Promotion:

  • Promote healthy lifestyles and physical fitness

  • Educate students on nutrition, exercise science, and wellness

  • Support school-wide health and fitness initiatives

  • Collaborate with school nurse and counseling services

  • Encourage lifelong participation in physical activity

Facilities & Equipment Management:

  • Maintain sports facilities and equipment

  • Ensure safety standards and risk assessments

  • Manage inventory of sports equipment

  • Supervise proper use of gymnasium and sports fields

  • Coordinate with facilities team on maintenance needs

Professional Collaboration:

  • Participate in departmental meetings and planning

  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development

  • Engage in professional development opportunities

  • Communicate effectively with parents

  • Contribute to school events and community activities

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field

  • Valid teaching certification/license from home country

  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in international schools

  • Experience teaching A-Level Physical Education or equivalent

  • Strong knowledge of sports science, anatomy, and physiology

  • Coaching qualifications in one or more sports

  • Excellent English communication skills (native or near-native)

  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills

  • Passion for physical education and student development

  • Commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field

  • Experience with Cambridge A-Level PE curriculum

  • Multiple coaching certifications

  • Experience in international schools in Asia/China

  • Knowledge of sports psychology and performance analysis

  • Experience with fitness testing and assessment

  • Proficiency in educational technology and sports analysis software

  • Additional qualifications in outdoor education or adventure sports

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: 250,000 - 350,000 RMB/year (competitive annual package)
