English Teacher-Guiyang

About the Position

Position: English Teacher (with IPC/IB teaching experience are preferred). Employment Type: Full Time. Location: Guiyang, Guizhou, China. School Type: Primary Private School. Contract: 1 academic year starting from August 2023. Schedule: 8:15am-12:15am, 2:30pm-5:30pm Monday to Friday day time, Weekends off. Teaching Hours: No more than 24 lessons per week, 35-40 minutes per class. Students: aged from 6-12, in the size of 20-40 students depending on the type of class.

Key Responsibilities

• Classroom fully equipped with computer, projector, blackboard.
• Curriculum and teaching materials provided.
• Take lessons to students that meets the individual needs, interests, abilities of students.
• Prepare lesson/unit/celebration plans according to school teaching requirement, curriculum subject and guidelines set by government and IPC officials.
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
• Monitor the development of each student and track students' progress and support students in academic matters.
• Assess and evaluate student learning outcomes on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
• Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior.
• Maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
• Create a safe, supportive and clean classroom environment.
• Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Participate in professional conferences, workshops, seminars, research projects, etc.
• Maintain and improve professional competence.
• Attend staff meetings and school's social events.
• Comply with school rules, regulations, value and work instruction.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree or above.
• Candidates with appropriate teaching qualifications.
• Relevant teaching experience, with IPC/IB/PYP teaching experience are preferred.
• Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa.
• Plenty of passion and energy for kids (enthusiastic and passionate in teaching).
• Patient, reliable, responsible, detailed-oriented, sympathetic and empathic.
• Good team player with excellent communication skills.
• A strong desire to live and work in China.
• Clean criminal record.
• Health certificate.
• Be qualified to apply for Work Permit, Work Visa (Z Visa) and Residence Permit.
